Declare a Major or Minor

Looking to declare the Spanish Major?

If under 90 credits, you can change your major on the progress report section of MyMap. If over 90 credits, contact the Liberal Arts Advisement Center located in JFSB 1041 at 801-422-3541 to set up an appointment to meet with one of our advisors.

If you are interested in completing an Option II instead of the required minor, see the course catalog for more information on requirement 8, and bring the following proposal form to the Liberal Arts Advisement Center.

Looking to declare the Spanish Studies Secondary Major?

First, discuss declaring a secondary major with the advisor of your primary major. If your advisor or the advisement center of your primary major support the addition of a secondary major to your academic plan, contact the Liberal Arts Advisement Center located in JFSB 1041 to set up an appointment to meet with one of our professors. They can be reached at 801-422-3541.

Fill out the Change of Major form, and bring a printed copy to your scheduled appointment.

Fill out the Secondary Major form, and bring a printed copy to your scheduled appointment.

Looking to declare the Spanish Minor?

Reach out to the advisement center of your primary major and let them know that you would like to minor in Spanish.

Interested in declaring the Spanish Teaching Minor?

Students must be accepted into a teaching major program before they can declare a teaching minor. In order to declare the Spanish teaching minor, simply reach out to the advisement center of your teaching major and let them know you would like to minor in Spanish teaching.
