The Brazil Internship provides a unique cultural and educational experience designed to help students acquire professional and cultural experiences that will allow them to prepare for life after the university.

The Portugal Internships through the Study in Portugal Network provide a unique cultural and educational experience designed to help advanced students acquire professional and cultural competencies that will allow them to prepare for life after the university.
International internships: $1500-$2500, depending on program cost and financial need
Eligible applicants with a minor only in the College of Humanities will be funded at half those amounts.
Foreign Language Area Studies Scholarship A U.S. Department of Education scholarship to encourage the study of specific underrepresented languages (see website for more information). Scholarship provides full tuition + $5,000 stipend for undergraduate students and full tuition + $15,000 stipend for graduate students. Students must plan to use the language in their future career.
HUM Grants The BYU ORCA grant program is now the BYU Humanities Undergraduate Mentoring Grants program (HUM grants). As part of the college support for experiential learning, HUM grants offer resources for student-initiated, faculty-mentored research projects outside the classroom. Students can apply to the College of Humanities, with a faculty mentor’s endorsement, for up to $1,200 in scholarship funding to support their work.

Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship A scholarship for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding to pursue academic studies or credit-bearing, career-oriented internships abroad. Scholarship provides up to $5,000.
Institute For Humane Studies at George Mason University A scholarship for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding to pursue academic studies or credit-bearing, career-oriented internships abroad. Scholarship provides up to $5,000. Click here for more information.
Internship Secretary

Students seek out their own domestic internship provider, and we provide a handful of on and off-campus resources for getting started below. In order for an internship experience to qualify for academic credit, students must work for a total of at least 42 hours per credit hour and for no less than 8 weeks. Note than no more than 3.00 credit hours can be applied toward Spanish and Portuguese majors and minors. It is also important that students apply for academic credit before they begin their internship, as credit will not be given retroactively (see the "Apply" button below) . After completing the application, students will be enrolled in the corresponding course.

The Ballard Center
Ballard Center internships allow students to put their social innovation skills into practice while gaining real-world experience. The Ballard Center connects students with internship opportunities at the most socially innovative organizations. We offer on-campus (Social Innovation Projects and Corporate Social Impact Projects) and off-campus opportunities.
The BYU Marriott School of Business on-campus internship (OCI) program combines sound business principles and real-world experiences for BYU students as they collaborate with a variety of companies.
